We’re Arrived!

Well, I only have a couple of minutes to write. The connection here is about 230 kbps… yep, you heard me… kb’s not mb’s. We got here this afternoon (Friday). It was a little touchy at the border… they are starting to question why so many Americans are coming to the COZ… thank goodness Rebecca was there to smooth things over. Officials are always difficult, it seems, no matter which country it is.

We had a pizza dinner with the other volunteers and started making plans for tomorrow… Rebecca will ask the children who is interested in learning about photography… so we’ll see how many raise their hands. Apparently, two children have already entered “contests” with their pictures… and they are only 10 and 12 years old. I can’t wait to meet them all tomorrow.

We have been invited to stay in the ‘big house’ with Gary & Rebecca…which makes things very nice. The only thing… locusts! not what I expected. The screens are loaded with them.

We have already seen some of Gary & Rebecca’s frustrations with the local help… complaints and betrayals. This is one of their constant battles, despite the fact that they are offering steady work. Just like in America, some people simply don’t want to work.

Well, I’ll try to log on again soon, but at this speed, I need to be quick and brief. Blessings to you all. Please keep praying… my lips have exploded with fever blisters and my stomach is not reliable already. sigh. Mike is fine, of course!
